2 days ago, went swimmin with mr lai sen hui.
haha. its really been awhile i saw him. haha.
my long-lost brother, sharin same surname. tsk.
but yeah, it was fun. great guy.
i figured out that practically every1 i know is a great person. haha.
guess u just have to see the good in them and accept their flaws.
that makes everyone and everything look more positive and stuff.

back to swimming topic.
i got burnt after that.
kukubird, everytime i swim i'd definitely get surnt somehow.
and its always my shoulders.
i read somewhere b4 that sunburns increase the risk of gettin skin cancer.
looks like im well on my way there if i keep on swimming. tsk.
shoulder cancer. that sounds dumb. hah.
but the burns make my shoulder itchy. weird.

so i rested the rest of the day..
and played soccer the next day.
at sin ming, under the bright hot sun, for 5 nice hours.
sweet. now i got burns on the face too. damn.
feels funny now. like its all dry and stuff.
makes me wna do this funny face which no1 notices. hah!

well shoulders feel better now.
at least sleeping's more or less still comfortable.
looking forward to more sports. haha.
im always lazy to go.
but when it all ends, i enjoy and look forward to going again. the irony.

im always lazy (as usual) to plug in to my elec.
like, i have to take my amp outta the box, remove the foams,
wires here and there. yeah u get it. its no good gettin whiney.
as a result, i play my dear ibanez 95% of the time.
i mean, the blue-sy feels are better on an elec..
but once again laziness got the better of me.
it feels like my les paul's kinda deprived. haha.

but i still love acoustics.
how a bare set of wood and strings can make such beautiful sounds.
haha. love it.
a lil lost of what next to move on to in learning.
been tryin to get the technique for heart of life down.
its really not easy. and frustrating most of the time.
but im still working on it! almost there. haha.

i feel like rockin man.
but i cant really do so, since i've no distortion or whatsoever.
so all i can play is clean.
thus, many rock songs cant be jammed.
unless i play an acous vers of it. hah.
sometimes it looks that oomph from distortions and stuff.
relating to that, im looking and considering the Boss BD-2 Blues-Driver pedal.
great sound man. not too heavy,
yet it gives the overdrive and light distortion, perfect for blues. woot.
but its a hundred-odd at swee lee.
lets see if i can get a better deal somewhere else.
hopefully i might be able to get it for my bday.
own money + parents present money= a new toy for my guit.

yeah. my bday's still 4-5 months away.
this gives me more time to buck up on playing
so i might at least be worthy of having a pedal to utilise.
and hopefully, spur me on to greater levels of playing,
eg blues and rock. and a fusion of these 2- blues rock.
yeah. great stuff.
long term goal, something like being able to improv a solo in any song, yet sounding sweet.
with blues, it just gives that much more edge.
the feel and techniques in blues..its just sweet man.
thats why its not easy to play.
the feel needs to be there.
im still tryin to work on my feel for blues.
slow but steady man.
thats why its long-term stuff. heh.

today is my sis's bday and also ash wednesday.
well, imma bad catholic today cos i didnt attend mass in church when im supposed to. heh.
instead, i went for my poly medical checkup, played my sis's ds,
and went for the so called dinner celebration for her just now. haha.
yeah, sinner me.

nothing much has been up in my life.
saw loh at the checkup today. yeah its been awile since i last saw him.
only loh, yap and me have gone thru the same schools in our lives so far.
cat high, peirce and then to nyp. yeah.
great folks they are.

hmm, nothing much to say i guess.
oh yeah, mum's feeling much better nowadays.
can nag and pinch my sis. so shouldnt be a prob. hahahha.
normally she'll just eat a few spoonfuls of food for her meals cos of her appetite (yeah seriously)
but today, she whacked a pack of maggee mee
then when we came back with dinner for her, she whacked it down too.
wow. she's a power woman. hahaa.

found out this band recently thru anthony
while in his car, he was listenin to this jazz kinda music.
he calls it fusion jazz. yeah. it sounds cool and chill-out.
its like funky jazz kinda lounge music.
and guess what the band's name is?
fourplay. yeah. interesting name huh. hahaha.

but they're really cool.
the bassist is nathan east. this guy who played with clapton.
this guy is a freaking musical genius.
he can sing whatever he plays on his bass. every note. shocker.
and he bends the bass strings. damn.
6 string bass lah. way cool.
its good stuff man.
good music hardly any1 would wna check out esp this kinda generation.
oh well.

so..today had me waking up around 945 in the morn.
slept like around 3 or something. my body clock is just cocked i tell u. hah.
i set my alarm at 9. ended up snoozing a good 45 mins. yeah.
woke up, got ready and left for church.
today had to play a small performance b4 the youth forum in church started.
i must say it went pretty well.
every1 did good.
enjoyable time playing. haha.
we ended a lil funny-ly for the last song though. hahha.
lucky mozy improvised well. haha.
was fun stuff. haha.
was so nervous and all b4 the whole performance thing
but when it started and all, it felt good.
perhaps it really helps when u know that ur not merely playin for the crowd in front.

good start for our grp in terms of music.
fyi, its our first proper time performing as a grp for the community. haha.
i hope we gained some recognition. heh.

mum's feelin better now.
which is of course a good thing.
she'll be having yet another blood test trw morn to see whether she can be discharged.
her platelet count is still quite on the low side.
and her gum bleeds so easily now.
her gum bled while she ate banana. now how bad is that man.
other than that, all's well. Amen.

today...
i went to church for session as usual.
planned for youth mass and stuff on 2nd may. yeah.
went to coffeeshop to chill after that.
then headed for mass.
told victor (one of the grp mates and and great guy) that my mum's in the hospital for dengue.
yeah, i think i didnt really tell many ppl bout it.

so after the mass and stuff,
vic and the other guys decided to visit my mum at mount alvernia.
real nice lah. only told vic bout it and he decided to tell the rest to pay my mum a visit.
so yeah, of course i was kinda touched in that sense. heh.
so anthony drove us there in his hyundai (is that how its spelled?)

so talked awhile with mum there.
dad and sis were there too.
she looked better than the other days.
her fever had gone down. but so did her blood count lah.
platelets dropped to low levels she said.
any lower she needs a blood transfusion.
so thats still one worrying thing.
but she looks fine. so thats good.

church trw.
having a 3-song performance for some of the youth community for the youth forum.
hope it'll all go smoothly trw.
yeah, its always nice to go back to where i got the gift to play music from.
and that is, through God. and im really thankful for that.
music has been and is such a big big part of me.
i love music.
i love blues.

and i love john mayer.
and the old man, eric clapton.
i'm no gay yeah. totally fine and straight. hahaha.
i'm another typical human being who sometimes wonder bout this unique thing called love.
